What are ETFs and are they right for you?
Exchange traded funds, more commonly known as ETFs, are a group of investments packaged into a single fund. They are bought and sold on the sharemarket. The CFS ETF Exposure Series funds give you access to ETFs by investing predominately (92-98%) in an ETF and having a small allocation to cash.
An ETF can contain different types of investments like shares, property or bonds. They can represent a particular industry, like technology, or a specific asset like Australian property or US shares.
ETFs generally have lower brokerage and ongoing costs compared to shares. One of their main benefits is they can give you access to different types of industries and asset types, which can add some diversification to your investment portfolio.
