FirstChoice Wholesale Pension is designed for investors who wish to convert their superannuation benefits into an allocated or pre-retirement pension.
An annuity could be a great option for investors who want a guaranteed income for a fixed term or over their lifetime.
It's an exciting time when you're finally able to access your retirement savings. Generally, once you reach your preservation age, you're eligible to start a Transition-To-Retirement (TTR) pension. If you also retire at your preservation age, you're eligible to start an account-based pension (also known as an allocated pension) - which offers the added flexibility of lump sum withdrawals. Learn more
Your main options are to either convert your super into an income stream; or take it all out as a one-off lump sum payment. Alternatively, you can do a combination of both. There are three main types of income streams; Transition-To-Retirement (TTR) pension, account-based pension (allocated pension) and non-account-based pension (eg. An annuity). Find out more
An annuity guarantees you a regular income for a defined period of time or for the rest of your life. You can buy one using a lump sum from your super or from savings outside of super. Just how much income you'll receive is determined by how much you invest, the term of the annuity, how much residual capital you want at the end of the term (if any), and the interest rate at the time you invest along with any other product options you select. Learn more
An account-based pension, also known as an allocated pension, is set up with money from your super that is invested by the trustee on your behalf. Withdrawals from the account are paid to you as an income. The balance of your account will go up or down depending on the performance of the investments in the account and the amount you withdraw. Unlike an annuity, the return on your investment is generally not guaranteed. Learn more

Your TFN reduces the risk of administrative errors, because your TFN is unique and helps identify you. There’s also less chance that extra tax will be withheld from any payments we make to you.
The number will be displayed on your income tax notice (notice of assessment), group certificate or super statement. You can also find it by logging in to myGov.
If you don't yet have a TFN, you can apply for it online. You’ll keep the same 9-digit number for life – even if you change your name, address or job.
You may be out of pocket. If you don't provide us with your TFN, or claim an exemption, we must withhold money at the highest marginal tax rate (plus applicable levies).
This will mean applying a tax rate of 47% to any payments we make to you as required by the ATO.
