Colonial First State works closely with some of the world’s leading investment managers to help manage the many investment options available to members. But who are investment managers, and what do they do?
Colonial First State offers more than 150 investment options to help members achieve their individual retirement goals. With our members front of mind, our team considers a range of investment factors to determine this offering, and the strategy and objectives for each fund. Each fund is appointed and managed by an investment manager – a highly skilled investment specialist with extensive management and performance history. Their role is to buy and sell the fund’s underlying investments with the aim of meeting our investment objectives and generating returns.
How do colonial first state and investment managers work together?
1. Colonial First State considers a range of investment factors to determine the investment options that we offer to our members
2. We appoint skilled investment managers under clear guidelines to manage individual investment options on your behalf
3. Managers buy and sell the option’s underlying investments with the aim of meeting the investment objectives of each option and generating returns for members
4. We monitor the performance of each investment option to ensure options perform in alignment with the objectives
What do investment managers do?
The task of each investment manager is to manage investment options to meet the investment objectives that are set for them. There are many different investment options that members can invest in and each investment manager has their own approach to investing but typically investment managers research markets and stocks to identify, analyse and invest in the best possible opportunities for the options they manage, within the guidelines we set for them. Colonial First State monitors each investment option to ensure that the investment manager delivers performance consistent with the objectives of the option.
So, is your money safe?
Colonial First State undertakes a comprehensive investment manager review, and establishes clear investment objectives and strategies which specify how investment managers manage each investment option. We aim to ensure each option is appropriately allocated and managed by suitable professionals who can demonstrate their ability to deliver on the option’s objectives.
