For Cheng Shen, success has always been connected to ownership. Not ownership for its own sake, but the opportunity to build a business that reflects his values, philosophy and approach to client care. 

 

That ambition led him to establish his own practice. "I wanted to create my own advice journey." From the outset, Cheng focused on creating an advice experience built around long-term relationships, long-term goals and efficient delivery. 

 

Efficiency became a defining principle. 

"The most important thing for me from the outset in designing the business was to ensure I had efficient advice processes in place."

He wanted clients moving forward quickly, with less administration and fewer delays. "I think systems and processes are the backbone of my business." 

 

Technology has played a critical role in achieving that vision. 

"I actually built my business processes around the CFS platform." 

Digital applications, Elemnta, and digital signatures have helped create a business designed around speed, consistency and client experience. Beyond technology, Cheng values having a strong partner behind him. "Beyond the platform, a strong partner plays a very important role." 

 

Looking ahead, his ambition remains straightforward. "My ambition for the business is to service 200 ongoing clients whilst providing high-quality advice."
