FirstChoice investment options are being renamed

On 18 November 2023, we’re simplifying some FirstChoice investment option names. This means renaming some investment options from ‘FirstChoice’ and ‘Colonial First State’ to ‘CFS’ and removing ‘Wholesale’ and ‘Select’ from names. 

This is a change in name only and won’t affect your clients’ accounts or the investment options they hold. Any data feeds you receive from research houses will be updated automatically to reflect the new names. 

What’s changing? 

The following name changes will apply to certain investment options: 

• ‘Colonial First State’ will change to ‘CFS’
  e.g. ‘Colonial First State Index Balanced’ will be renamed to ‘CFS Index Balanced’ 
• ‘FirstChoice’ will change to ‘CFS’
  e.g. ‘FirstChoice Defensive’ will be renamed ‘CFS Defensive’ 
• ‘Wholesale’ will be removed from investment option names
  e.g. ‘DNR Capital Wholesale Australian Equities High Conviction’ will be renamed to ‘DNR Capital Australian Equities High Conviction’ 
• ‘Select’ will be removed from investment option names
  eg. ‘Alphinity Sustainable Share Select’ will be renamed to ‘Alphinity Sustainable Share’.

Please note: for Xplan users, there will be a slight change to how our FirstChoice product suite is referenced in your data feed. From 18 November, ‘Colonial First State’ will be replaced with ‘CFS’ at the product level. E.g. ‘Colonial First State FirstChoice Wholesale Personal Super’ will change to ‘CFS FirstChoice Wholesale Personal Super’. 

How we’re communicating with your clients 

Your clients will be notified of these changes via a Key Changes Flyer later this year. Clients will also be able to access FAQs and see which investment options have changed names here. 

There’s no action you or your clients need to take. These changes will come into effect automatically on 18 November. 

Our disclosure documents will also be updated on this date.
