Email requests ending in August

From 23 August, we'll no longer accept client-signed forms, KYC documentation and POA documents via email. As part of our move to a more efficient and controlled process, requests will need to be submitted via CFS Edge rather than email, except where specific circumstances warrant an alternative approach. CFS Edge is a secure and efficient environment for submitting client requests for processing.

Helping you make the most of CFS Edge

How to track external rollovers

It's easy to track the status of inflight external rollovers into CFS Edge, including SuperStream message details. Simply find your client, navigate to Product details and select the Rollovers tab.

Monthly performance reports are available for managed accounts

Each report provides:

- top 10 holdings

- monthly performance history (since inception)

- portfolio profile.

Access the reports here.

You can see managed fund investment data on the Order Pad

When buying or selling managed funds, you can easily access investment data on the trading screen. Simply enter a unit or amount to buy or sell and the Investment data box will pop up on the right of the screen, showing the estimated settlement date. Just scroll down to see more data, including the fund’s annual report, fact sheet, prospectus, and target market determination.

How to get the most out of sub-accounts

CFS Edge allows sub-accounts where you can group or bucket assets in different sub holdings within a client’s account.

You can add more sub-accounts whenever you want and rename existing sub-accounts to suit the investment strategy or, in the case of trusts and SMSFs, to distinguish between underlying owners.

To edit a sub-account, navigate to the client account > Settings > Account details and click on the ellipsis (three dots) next to each sub-account.

Did you know: You can customise tables

You can include the information you want and export tables in the format that suits you. The Table Editor tool allows you to include which client, account and market data information you want in the table and in the order you want. You can access the Table Editor in the client account Investment Holdings screen and the Research and Clients sidebar apps.

How to share documents and forms with your clients

1. Navigate to your client’s account.

2. Select Reports and documents.

3. Select Add new document. A new popup window will appear.

4. Choose document category and archive status from the dropdown lists.

5. Choose YES to make the document visible to your client.

6. Click Save.

Progressive cash withdrawals on sell transactions

You can now access funds from managed accounts more quickly by initiating a sell transaction. Effective Monday 16 February, CFS Edge will progressively move cash from a managed account sell transaction into the main cash account as individual asset sell downs occur and cash becomes available.

For clients with buy investment strategies in place, you’ll need to pause these before initiating the sell transaction to prevent the cash being automatically reinvested.

One-off cash withdrawals

If you don’t need to access the cash quickly, you can complete a one-off cash withdrawal as you do today.

If you’re completing a one-off cash withdrawal for a super or pension account and selecting a managed account as part of the sell, you’ll need to pause any reinvestment strategies for the client before initiating this transaction.

Running cash balance

We've reinstated the running cash balance on the cash transaction screen, allowing you to easily track the cumulative cash position without relying on external reports.

Performance reporting

We've reverted a recent change so that the default reporting display is of performance results before fees and tax.

December enhancements

In December we ntroduced enhancements driven by your feedback, delivering improvements that simplify everyday processes and strengthen the overall experience.

Highlights include:

Ability to prepare advice fee consent documentation in advance of your client meetings, as part of the onboarding process.

Reduced volume of client notifications freeing up client inboxes and preventing unnecessary concerns being escalated to you.

Improved visibility of work in progress on your client’s accounts and workflow flexibility.

Better performance reporting for simpler client conversations.

Streamlined experience when converting from transition to retirement to account based pensions.

You can find a detailed pack on these changes here. We've also prepared a short pack to support you in your conversations with clients.

It’s now easier to transfer existing group insurance cover to CFS Edge

In response to adviser feedback, we’ve made it easier to transfer insurance into CFS Edge. Effective 1 September, you can transfer your clients’ default group insurance cover held with another super fund into AIA’s PPPI retail insurance product — without the need for full underwriting:

  • Transfer up to $350,000 Life/TPD cover (any occupation)
  • Transfer up to $5,000 per month Income Protection (max 5-year benefit period)
  • Short-form application (just seven medical questions)

The following changes went live on CFS Edge on the weekend of 13-14 September.

Login and security

  • Investor login: We've removed the countdown timer to re-request a multi-factor authentication code and simply inform the client when this is available if needed.
  • Multi-factor authentications: Offshore teams can now receive the one-time passcode via email.

Reporting

  • Asset allocation look through: You can see the underlying asset classes for balanced/diversified investments on asset allocation graphs onscreen and in client reports.
  • Cash and investment transaction report: You can customise the report to view only cash transactions, only investment transactions, or both.

Date and time

We’re standardising date formats to DD-MMM-YYYY across the platform to avoid confusion (e.g. 16-Aug-2025.)

CFS Edge Managed Account port   folio reports are now interactive

We’ve enhanced the CFS Edge Signature portfolio reports so you can explore portfolio and performance data dynamically. You can filter on portfolio manager, asset class, investment approach and style, risk measure, series and minimum investment.

Monthly reports are available at the end of the month following the relevant reporting period. The July monthly performance bulletin is available now: read the bulletin.

Quarterly reports, including manager commentary, will be released at the end of the month following the quarter.

Access the reports

The following changes went live on CFS Edge on the weekend of 26-27 July.

Menu and navigation: The Investment Strategy options are now easier to find, with more intuitive wording.

Reporting: The performance report has a fresh look and feel, with improved layout, spacing, fonts, and chart display.

Advice fee wizard: You can upload multiple documents during the advice fee consent process.

Usability: Account IDs are displayed (in addition to the Account name) in the account widget on the client screen and account types and investment codes are displayed on the trading screen.

Pension functionality

You can now:

  • amend the pension payment date for your clients before the account is funded, giving greater flexibility and control, and
  • see details on a real-time display of Condition of Release (COR) and 'Total pension paid this financial year' on the pension details screen, reducing your need to contact us for this information.

Performance reporting

We’ve created a user guide to performance reporting on CFS Edge. The guide includes a snapshot of the key differences in reporting between Wrap and Edge. Check out the guide.

Access enhanced reporting

You can now generate reports more easily by quickly selecting at account, client, or family group level. There's also an improved date range selector.

For family groups and clients with multiple accounts, you can generate consolidated reporting including portfolio valuation, asset allocation, fees and performance.

We’ve also improved the layout of some reports, including presenting more information on each page.

Enhancing client reporting remains a priority area with more improvements planned later this year.

Client notification alerts

For clients with the daily default alert frequency in place, daily email and/or SMS alerts will now cease after seven days. If the client logs into CFS Edge and marks the notification as Read before then, the alerts will cease.

We've also made some design changes to improve the look and feel of the email alerts, including reducing the terms and conditions wording in the footer.

You can now keep the same password for 12 months

We’ve extended the CFS Edge password expiry period, so you and your clients only need to create a new login password every 12 months instead of every three months.

Access wholesale term deposits

We’ve made NAB wholesale term deposits available on CFS Edge.

We’ve resolved an issue related to term deposit rates which are now visible 24/7, so you can view and buy term deposits at any time.

More choice and flexibility on managed accounts

Signature menu additions: We’ve added the Sandstone Income Portfolio, managed by MST Financial, to the CFS Edge platform. The portfolio offers professionally managed exposure to a diverse mix of credit and income assets with active oversight from MST Financial’s experienced team.

Switches and transfers: You can now view source and destination accounts and choose from dollar or percentage values when creating an intra-transfer transaction.

Rebalancing exclusion: You can now pause clients’ managed accounts from being rebalanced in CFS Edge, reducing the risk of delays to functions such as super account transfers.

Performance history: The new monthly performance bulletin for managed accounts on CFS Edge is now available, located top right.

Click to chat update

We’ve implemented an update to Click to Chat to improve availability of this popular communication channel.

Need help?

The red Need help tab has been replaced with a navy blue circular icon. It still has all the same resources, including FAQs, guides and videos.

IDPS in-specie transfer to super

We’ve updated the Asset Transfers Out and Asset Transfers In tool so you can use it to complete an IDPS transfer to super in CFS Edge.

This means you don’t need to sell down investments to transfer into super and holdings will be transferred faster.

You can find a guide to this process in the Need Help menu in CFS Edge.
