Last year we partnered with Striver – a graduate coaching and training service for new entrants to the financial advice industry. Through this partnership we can support graduates and other young people from a grassroots level and showcase the benefits of financial planning to a wide audience.
Investment Fundamentals course
In addition to the Super Fundamentals module we released in December 2020, we’ve now launched an Investment Fundamentals course that aims to help Striver students increase their knowledge of investment styles, strategies and outcomes before they enter the world of investing. In addition to explaining the basics, we stress the importance that no two investors are alike, which is why it’s crucial to do research and think about specific investment goals first.
- The different types of investments that are available and how they work.
- Common investment strategies used by investors and investment managers.
- How to avoid behavioural biases and making poor investment decisions.
- Choosing an investment that aligns to specific investment goals, objectives and risk tolerance.
- How to get started with investing.
Watch a preview of the course below.
Welcome to our Investment Fundamentals course.
Colonial First State has been helping Australians with their investment, superannuation and retirement needs since 1988.
Our passion for high performance, service and innovation has made us one of the most consistently awarded fund managers in the country.
We’re strong supporters of the financial advice industry and the role it plays in helping people achieve a better financial future.
We’ve chosen to partner with Striver because we’re committed to developing the quality and professionalism of the financial advice industry.
Today, we’re discussing investments.
One of the most important things to keep in mind is that no two investors are alike. Everyone has their own investment goals and objectives. Some people are more risk averse than others. And different styles of investing appeal to different people. So if someone wants to start investing, they need to be clear about what exactly they’re hoping to achieve first.
In this module, we’ll discuss different types of investments and how they work. We’ll look at some of the most common strategies used by investors and investment managers. We’ll touch on behavioural biases and how to avoid making poor investment decisions. Finally, we’ll discuss how to choose an investment that’s right for you and the different ways you can invest.
Let’s get started.
